As the world continues to respond to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic small acts of kindness are becoming increasingly important in our daily lives.
Acts of kindness do make a tremendous difference to the mental health and wellbeing of both recipient and giver.
That’s why AffecTech is supporting this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week May 18-24, launched by the Mental Health Foundation.
AffecTech researcher Claudia Dauden explains: “Kindness in daily life is a great boost to our mental health and in this year of unique challenges it can really make a difference.
“As part of AffecTech’s commitment to mental health awareness, we are encouraging people to share acts of kindness they encounter during their ‘lockdown’ daily lives.
“Because despite this being a sad and challenging time for many, we are also seeing countless genuine acts of kindness that are bringing people together and brightening up their days. A kind word or offer of practical assistance to another person is all it takes to make a difference.
“Please support Mental Health Awareness Week 2020 by sharing your positive stories on social media with hashtags such as #mentalhealthawarenessweek #kindnessmatters or #dailykindness, so others can join in and celebrate their acts of kindness too, and spread the word about how acts of kindness make such a positive impact on our wellbeing.”
